Step 1 - On hinge side of door, at the desired height, fasten the jamb bracket to the door jamb using the (4) long screws. The open side of the bracket should be 1/4" from the door as shown in Figure A. If replacing an existing closer, use existing screw holes if possible.

Caution: Installing further than 1/4" from door will significantly reduce degree of opening.

Step 2 - Slide hold-open washer on rod. Using short connecting pin, connect closer to the front hole on the jamb bracket. Pull tube and place hold-open washer between closer tube and lug as shown in Figure B. 

This will provide proper tension to ensure your storm door closes completely. Do not change until installation is complete.

Step 3 - Attach door bracket to closer tube with long connecting pin as shown in Figure C. 

With door tightly closed, place closer and door bracket against door in a level position. Pencil outline of door bracket onto door. Remove door bracket from closer and place on door in marked location. Mark and drill (2) 1/8" pilot holes through the center of each set of holes on the door bracket. CAUTION: Do not drill holes all the way through the door. Fasten door bracket to door with (2) short screws. Reconnect closer to door backet with long connecting pin. 

Note: The first time the door is opened move hold-open washer away from tube and toward the jamb bracket. Closer is now ready for normal use.

Speed adjustment - To regulate closing speed of door, turn adjusting thumbscrew counter-clockwise for faster and clockwise for slower as shown in Figure D.

Snap Action Closing - Installed as directed, the door is in the maximum latching position. For a smoother and quieter latching, hold door open about 8" and slide hold-open washer to tube. Remove the short connecting pin from the jamb bracket and relocate closer rod in rear hole as shown in Figure B. Push door open further and slide hold-open washer back toward jamb bracket. Closer is now ready for normal use.
